Walter Wesley MURRAY

The 1901 census shows his occupation as a mariner. The 1911 census shows his occupation as a plummer. He was still living at home in 1911. Harvey's brother Walter Wesley, or more fondly remembered by family as Uncle Wes; I have found his date of death in the LDS, U.S. Social Security Death Index - which pretty much coincides with the info in Harvey's obituary...date of death Oct 1966, Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan - don't have a day yet. The family story goes that he was on his roof making repairs, when he fell to his death at age of 84...There appears to be an error in the Death Index as it shows his year of birth as 1883, where his baptismal record and 1901 census clearly state 1882..

Information found by Sara Leonard in Maine - Thank You.

Further note from me to Sara...

It sure appears that this is our Wesley, the only item that sticks out is the year of birth, although I'm starting to think that maybe it was Dec 1883, as he was baptized in Jan 1884...I'll have to try and find his birth record at the NS Archives, and confirm it once and for all. Also, his next of kin, I suppose one can assume this is Mrs Walter Wesley...he would have been 35 or so when he enlisted, and can assume he was married? Although, no one in Cape Breton seems to know whether he was married or not? I'll have to talk to Aunt Jeannie again...
