She was the former Gladys Maynes and was born in the United States, coming here as a young bride where she has resided ever since. Of a kind and loving disposition and noted for her generosity to the poor, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
After a short funeral service at her residence, the remains were forwarded to Zion Robertson's United Church where the pastor Rev. W. K. Pace was assisted by Rev. Mr. Kingsbury of the Anglican Church at Mulgrave and Rev. Mr. Robins of the United Church at West Bay. The church choir was in attendance and sang favorite hymns of the deceased "Abide With Me" "Nearer My God To Thee" and "Oh God Our Help In Ages Past."
