Clements parents were Joseph and Margaret (?) Hand, of Little Drayton, Shropshire, England. Clement also had a brother Joseph who died young and a sister Mary Ann. Clements father died at age 32 Dec 1869.
His mother remarried a Joseph Abbots of Market Drayton sometime 1870/71…DEATH: Tombstone Inscription: Clement Hand, Died 6 September, 1915, Aged 50.
BIOGRAPHY: Annie Cartwright Hand was the first wife of Clement Hand. She was of French origin and is shown as coming from Quebec. She was Roman Catholic, which explains why she was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The death register also shows her husband's occupation as a Mason. She is buried in what is called Free Grounds, Range 1, row 8, grave 22. There probably isn't a headstone marking her grave site.
